01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

Located in the heart of Egham Hill, The Hub serves as a vibrant culinary and social space primarily catering to the Royal Holloway University of London community. While its core offering centers around university-style dining, The Hub delivers a surprisingly diverse experience that extends beyond typical campus catering.

The dining atmosphere at The Hub strikes a welcoming, no-fuss balance – a cozy spot where students, faculty, and visitors can grab everything from a freshly brewed Starbucks coffee to a refreshing bubble tea from Pearls, or even authentic Japanese bites courtesy of Kimiko. Though the menu varies daily, there’s a charming unpredictability that keeps regulars intrigued and eager to see what’s next. One customer remarked on the delight of afternoon Chinese selections, highlighting the freshness and variety that surprise even seasoned campus diners.

The true charm of The Hub lies in its multifunctional nature. It doubles as a practical venue, offering workshop spaces equipped with essential audio-visual setups to make meetings and events run smoothly—an element praised for its simplicity and efficiency. Guests appreciate the clean, tidy rooms with serene forest-facing views, lending a refreshing breath of fresh air that complements the energetic buzz of the dining area.

Although the accommodation facilities are limited and positioned at a premium, they provide a unique convenience for university guests needing a cozy stay close to campus. Rooms are thoughtfully furnished, from comfortable beds to handy in-room essentials like ironing boards and tea/coffee amenities, enhancing comfort despite some minor ventilation concerns.

Overall, The Hub is not just a place to eat or stay; it’s a welcoming hub of connection and convenience that reflects the lively spirit of university life. Whether you’re popping in for a quick drink, attending a workshop, or staying overnight, The Hub offers a thoughtfully integrated experience tailored to meet the needs of its diverse clientele.

For visitors or new students, The Hub provides a friendly, practical venue with a pulse on student needs—making it much more than just a dining room. If you’re in Egham and craving a taste of campus life with the comforts of a well-run facility, The Hub is certainly worth a visit.

The Hub, is mainly for Royal Holloway University of London students, it’s a place to eat I.e university catering, and is a Starbucks, pearls bubble tea, and kimiko for the guests. Surprisingly you can also stay at the hub they do offer few room that’ll be quite expensive but they are there for university students guests to stay. The hub is mainly for food, reception, post room, and laundry. There is an Amazon locker too!

Room is clean and tidy. Room facing the forest is very nice with fresh air. Bathroom is a bit warm without ventilation but the shower is refreshing and comfortable. Lift is only to third floor so cautious if carrying loads of luggage.

Great place to stay for location & value for money. The larger rooms with the sitting area are definitely more comfortable as those without are very compact, but still have all you need - ironing board, hair dryer, tv, tea/coffee. Comfortable beds, a little noisy when people outside on the patio, but it's not usually too late.

Royal Holloway Hub Review: A Hidden Gem of Campus Life! Let’s talk about Royal Holloway, where the magic happens both in and outside of lecture halls! Whether you’re strolling around campus, getting a workout in, or diving into the latest novel, there’s a place that suits every mood. Here’s a little tour of what makes this campus feel like a home away from home. The Hub: Picture this: a buzzing center where every corner feels like it has its own vibe. Grab a coffee, hang out with friends, or dive into some serious people-watching. The Hub is like that cozy, central hangout spot where ideas flow as easily as your next latte. Plus, it’s perfect for catching up on emails or grabbing a snack between classes. The Gym: Ah, the gym. If you’re looking to feel the burn or just release some stress after a long day, this place has got you covered. Whether you’re into weight lifting, cardio, or just stretching it out, it has everything you need to get your endorphins flowing. The staff is super friendly, and the equipment is top-notch. You’ll leave feeling strong – both in body and spirit. The Grounds: Let’s not forget the beautiful grounds! Seriously, if you’re not already in love with the idea of walking around a campus that looks like something straight out of a fairytale, you will be once you see it. Lush greenery, quirky paths, and scenic spots perfect for daydreaming (or studying when you’re feeling extra productive). There’s even a lake where you can get your zen on. Nature walks anyone? The New Library: Hold onto your book-loving hats, because the new library is a dream! It’s sleek, modern, and somehow cozy all at the same time. Think: open spaces for group work, quiet corners for solo study sessions, and plenty of natural light so you don’t feel like you’re buried in a dungeon. Plus, the selection of resources is more than enough to fuel your academic pursuits. And did I mention the tech? Smooth, cutting-edge, and perfect for digital projects. The Architecture: Ah, the architecture—this campus is where history meets modernity in the most glorious way. The iconic Founder’s Building with its fairy-tale towers and grand entrance stands as a beacon of tradition and beauty. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel like you’re about to step into a Hogwarts-style adventure. But then, just as you fall in love with that majestic vibe, you turn a corner and are greeted by sleek, contemporary buildings that effortlessly blend into the lush, green surroundings. It’s the perfect mix of old-world charm and cutting-edge design, and every corner of the campus is like walking through an art exhibit. In short, Royal Holloway nails it with a mix of campus essentials. Whether you’re working out, getting some quiet study time, or hanging out with friends, this place makes it easy to feel right at home. If you’re lucky enough to be here, you’re in for a treat!
